To qualify, you must hold a bachelor’s degree or higher in the appropriate teaching subject area or the equivalent.
* Candidates will not be eligible to serve as the teacher of record in a K-12 or 6-12 classroom until after successful completion of licensure courses and passing the required exams.
· While all of the required courses are offered online, candidates will be required to complete a field experience practicum of approximately 80 clock hours over the course of a semester in an approved K-12 or 6-12 classroom. Additionally, candidates will also have to student teach, full-time for an entire semester, in an approved K-12 or 6-12 classroom.
* Admission requires minimum GPA of 3.0 on the last 60 undergraduate hours.
ALTERNATIVE PATHWAYS:
Transition to Teaching is available for middle school (5-8), secondary (6-12) and PreK-12 subject areas. More information is available at www.fhsu.edu/cert/t2t/ or 785-628-4542.

Must hold a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific subject area or have completed enough coursework to be equivalent to having a major in a content area.
* This licensure is for middle school, secondary, and PreK-12 endorsement areas – it does not include Elementary Education, Early Childhood or Special Education.
* The candidate must have passed the relevant Praxis content exam.
* The candidate must be hired under contract in Kansas to teach the subject they qualify for to enter the program.
* Admission requires minimum GPA of 2.75 on the last 60 credit hours.
The High Incidence Special Education Limited Apprentice License alternative route has three requirements to begin the program:
Completers finish the program in either two or three years with a Master of Science in Special Education High Incidence and are fully licensed to teach high incidence special education (PreK-12) in Kansas. GRADUATE EDUCATION PROGRAMS:
